34/365 Small Happy Things

My girl was home with us today. The results of a Superbowl enchilada hangover I think. The best part of it was having a playmate for Quinn, when his sister wasn't sleeping or curled up on the couch in a vegetative state. Having a sibling home meant he actually left me alone for minutes at a time, and only forced me to play a head splitting game of soccer once with him the whole afternoon. It was enough to make me consider pulling all the children out of school for the rest of their lives just to keep him company.

Also today I bought a broom. A replacement for the cracked, crusty, sad little number that has been staring at me in the face every time I walk through the kitchen. This purchase made me feel like a much newer, much cleaner, much more organized person, almost like I should have my picture or a picture of my broom in a magazine or something.

Finally, there are flowers on the table again.

  1. Just so you know, visiting your blog each day is one of my small happy things. It gives me great pleasure to see the world through your lens and your words :-)
