| through the eyes |
Today, it was through the eyes of this child where I saw what we listened to in theory this morning take on a measure of flesh: how each person is made Imago Dei, in the very image of God. Yes, that is the worth and weight God put on each and every human. So, for our mother-son date, we walked the streets and he responded to each beggar with a tender and searching heart, the way we adults in our cynicism and maturity so often learn not to do. We talked about what it means to love the ones that are least attractive to us, and he held my hand on the way home, not knowing just how much he had flooded my heart with the challenge not to look away.
