66/365 Saturday Style

| morning |

With the boys away for a few hours, the girls stayed home to play. Well, to make up recipes (her new favorite thing), tidy up the house, and take a walk to pick up fruit.

 | afternoon |

Our sweet family guest, Brooke arrived just this week and we introduced her to one of the perks of China living... hour long massages for a few dollars. My girl was charmed by her cheery, blind masseuse and the feeling was entirely mutual.

63/365 Seeing Shadows

I love black and white. I love the play with light and grayscale and shadows and contrast. It is a world of beauty all its own, and there is so much that is brought out... and hidden, in a black and white photo. Today was so so grey; cold, with a little spitting rain. The kind of day that doesn't give much light to play with. But even the shadows have things to say...

And just to be nice and not entirely depressing, a bit of color...

62/365 Tuesday Stories

City life can make you a hunter of sorts; looking for ways to explore... to get dirt under your nails and tadpole hunting under your belt. How grateful I am for urban parks, and how if you squint your eyes a little and block out your peripheral view, you can believe just for a few moments you were lost in the woods somewhere.

61/365 Back at Monday

The Chinese New Year break has ended and we are back at Monday; back at routines, the daily rhythm and grind, the ups and downs, the gray skies of early March, and the wait for spring.

60/365 #sundaysaremyfavorite ~ A Psalm 23 Reprise

 The Lord is My Shepherd
I shall not want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside quiet waters.
He restores my soul.

He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil.

For You are with me.
Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me,
in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil.
My cup overflows.

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life.
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord,
forever.
